Fun with Grandma B

This past week Matt was gone to Idaho for the middle school Bike Hike trip.  They camp for a week and then bike to different destinations each day.  We've joined him on the trip the last two years, but decided camping for a week with a 3 month old might not be the easiest! About a month ago my mom had offered to come up and spend the week with us and I gladly accepted her offer.

Clara had been excited for the whole week leading up to her arrival.  Monday came and we headed to the airport to pick her up.  We waited at the security exit and when Clara saw her she  squealed and screamed with excitement.

Within 5 minutes of arriving at home Clara had a stack of books and a comfy chair ready for her!  They spent much of the week reading books together, sitting outside enjoying picnics on the front porch, and going for bike rides around the neighborhood.  It was so wonderful to have her here and extremely helpful!  While she had the girls, I was able to get some errands and things done that I don't get around to when I have both of the girls with me.  I had forgotten how quickly I can get in and out of a store when I am not unbuckling and toting the girls!  Plus sometimes it is just so refreshing to have a couple hours alone!

Clara wanted to wear her "reading glasses" like B.
We also took a few trips out to see the "Blue House", our new house.  It was so helpful to have my mom walk through it and hear her suggestions and thoughts.  I feel fairly inept when it comes to style, decor, and whatnot, so it was wonderful to have a set of new eyes to look at the place!
